Brief Profile
Dr.Prabha R. has 12 years of teaching experience and guided 4 PG students so far. She is a recipient of CSIR Senior Research Fellowship during Ph.D on ‘Incorporation of Wild Strains of Bifidobacteria into Infant Milk Formulae”. She has published 25 research papers in leading scientific journals.
Current areas of Research
Dr. Prabha has the interest of optimizing the phenotypic identification of bacteria, yeast and molds; extraction & characterization of bacterial biosurfactants and production of kefir, kumiss, probioticshrikhand. Her inquisitiveness is on natural prebiotics and their effect on the growth of probiotic bacteria, their preservation and their establishment in gastro-intestinal tract of consumers.
Important Projects completed
1) A research project titled ‘Economic method of preserving lactic cultures’ which was sponsered by KVAFSU for a duration of 1 year.
2) A research cum extension project titled ‘Need Based Biological Filter’ which was sponsered by KVAFSU for a total duration of 2 years.

Dr. RAMACHANDRA B.

Brief Profile
Dr. B.Ramachandra has 12 years of teaching experience and guided 2 PG students so far. He is a recipient of university gold medal during Ph.D on ‘Performance of Lactic Acid Bacterial Isolates of Dahi Samples in the Development of Honey Enriched Probiotics Lassi”. He has published 21 research papers in leading scientific journals.
Current areas of Research
Dr. Ramachandra has research interest in molecular characterization of Lactic acid and Probiotic bacteria; Antibiotic resistance properties of lactic isolates and Preservation of starter cultures.
Important Projects Handled:
1) A reserach project titled 'Screening of milk samples for the presence of antimicrobial substances and its effect on the growth of LAB’. This project was sponsered by KVAFSU for a duration of 2 years.
2)A research project titled 'Identification of exopolysaccharide producing Lactic Acid Bacteria in the fermented foods. This project was sponsered by KVAFSU for a duration of 2 years.
3) A research cum extension project titled 'Study of antibiotic resistant LAB prevailing in milk and dahi samples consumed at the rural areas (MPCS-attached village) which was sponsered by KVAFSU for a total duration of 1 year.

Ms. Malashree L. has teaching experience of 6 years and worked on ‘Evaluation of β-glucosidase Potential of Lactobacilli for Biotransformation of Soy Isoflavone’ for M.Tech programme at NDRI, Karnal. She has published 5 research articles in esteemed peer reviewed journals.
