The Dairy Science College, Bengaluru is one of the premier, reputed and well sought Institutes for Dairy Technology education in the country. The College was established in 1980 under the erstwhile University of Agricultural Sciences, Bengaluru. Since April 2005, it is under the establishment of the newly carved out University “Karnataka Veterinary, Animal and Fisheries Sciences University, Bidar”.
More than 800 students have been graduated from this Institute, who are serving in nationally and internationally reputed organizations and acting as our Ambassadors. It is a matter of proud to learn that our Alumni have spread across the globe and shining so well with their unique contributions and occupied prime positions in various Dairy and food related organizations which kept the name of Alma Mater at a high profile. In the journey of last 38 years, Dairy Science College, Bengaluru has produced high quality Human Resource to cater the need of Dairy and Food Industries. Nearly 90 per cent of the technical staff of Karnataka Milk Federation are the products of this institute who are acting as balancing wheel of the Dairy Industry.
On the occasion of this ‘NEW YEAR – 2019’ celebrations, Dairy Science College, Bengaluru is releasing its own Website “”. This is mainly for bringing our entire ‘Graduates’ under a single umbrella. It is the sincere efforts of some of our Faculty to pool all our alumni, who are spread across the globe under one roof. It is the desire of our Alumni to come together, communicate, interact and have intimate contact through this ‘Web’ to live and lead the family of “Dairy Science Bengaluru” for strengthening the bondage of this fraternity.

Served as visiting professor for a period of one year during 2003-04 at Konkuk University, Seoul, South Korea.
Trained technical staff of Almarai Dairy, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for 4 times each of 10 days duration during 2009-10.
Served as Registrar of the University for a period of 4 years during 2012-2016.
Served as Member secretary of Academic Council and Board of Management of the University for 4 years during 2012-2016.
Published 44 research papers, 16 review papers/technical articles in reputed national and international journals. Presented/ published more than 52 short communications/abstracts in national and international conferences / seminars / symposium.
Recipient of Jawaharlal Nehru National award instituted by ICAR, New Delhi
Received several best research paper award and other awards for research contributions presented in the conferences.
Current areas of Research:
Presently the research is mainly focused on development of value added functional foods such as weaning foods, ready to eat foods and health foods by utilizing milk protein derived bio active peptides and probiotics.
Important Research Projects Handled:
Whey protein concentrates in the formulation of dairy and bakery products. Funded by ICAR, New Delhi (1997-2000).
Enzymatic modification of milk protein for preparation of infants foods with enhanced nutrition. Funded by NATP, New Delhi (2000-2004).
Sustaining livelihood security in rural women of Dakshina Kannada District through integrated livestock and fisheries production. Funded by DST, New Delhi (2014-2017).
